Skin needling stimulates the dermis, which is your skin’s deeper layers. The needles reach the deep dermis, making it possible to treat acne and other scars by breaking up scar tissue and inducing skin remodeling. Skin needling must only ever be performed by qualified therapists, and it offers minimal risk of infection and scarring when performed properly. It uses sterile, disposable needle cartridges which reduces the risk of cross-contamination. A topical anesthetic is applied to skin before the procedure to help minimise discomfort.
